Linen is made from long-fibred flax. It’s a yearly plant nearly ![]() The preferable temperature is 15-18°С, not very sunny weather. The stem grows high and branches near the top. When it’s too hot, the stem stops growing and branches a lot, the fiber becomes shorter and coarse. Flax is harvested when the stems become yellow and the bottom leaves fall. At first flax is pulled with a machine TSL, i.e. it’s pulled out with the root and spread in the field so that the stems soak in dew.During the dew-retting ![]() Raw materials come from shokha to a tambour and through a dryer to a layer-forming mechanism, then through a conveyor to a breaking-scutching machine, and we get long fiber flax (№ 9,10,11,12,13). Separated short fiber is processed in a tow-making machine, and we get short flax № 2,3,4,6. The waste is processed into hemp. Everything that is left after the production of flax fibre and hemp – boon is used for the heating of a boiler house. Other kinds of goods are also produced. So, the level of raw materials processing is 100%. |
